If there was any doubters of the ability Israel Adesanya possesses, he put on a show at UFC 253.

The Last Stylebender destroyed the dangerous Paulo Costa with his UFC middleweight title on the line with a virtuoso performance.

Adesanya worked Costa's lead leg into oblivion with a series of devastating kicks that showed very visible welts by the end of just the first round.

Once Costa's mobility was compromised, Adesanya let go a flurry that Costa couldn't evade and the left-hand - similarly to how he beat Robert Whittaker - would put Costa to bed.

Back in August, Adesanya dyed his hair pink ahead of the clash with Costa and his rival made a dig at the new style on Twitter.

"The only thing more disturbing than this video was your fight against Romero. Somebody tell USADA to test him for too much estrogen," Costa wrote.

When asked after his victory at UFC 253 why he went back to his normal hair colour for the fight, Adesanya said his dad, Oluwafemi, gave him some good advice.

The champion was told that if he jabbed Costa in the eyes, he would be able to fixate on the hue of the pink hair and aim for that, so the champion took away a possible advantage for his foe.

Considering Adesanya carries a very confident exterior that to some borders on arrogance, it's nice to see that even he listens to parental words of wisdom.

UFC president Dana White said afterwards he believes Adesanya is another star in the making.

Israel Adesanya says that the reason that he got rid of his pink hair was because his father Oluafemi told him that if he jabbed Costa in the eyes, he would be able to fixate on the hue of the pink hair and aim for that.

Conor McGregor appears set to return to boxing in the near future despite angling for a fight with Diego Sanchez and White was far from happy with the Irishman disclosing their private messages about the idea.

Still, Adesanya and Costa's face off set all kinds of social media records - even beating McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov.

So what's next for Adesanya? A move up in weight will happen eventually, but the Nigerian says he wants to clear out the middleweight division first and Jared Cannonier is next in his sights.
